![]() Too fast to catch her if you blinkin shes gone, Make your move baby you aint takin her home, Her smile alone, make your heart go thump, thump, thump. Its her song now, well ya know its her song The crowd get to steppin and floor it bows, feet get to movin and the music slows Lyrics:Hey troublemaker feel the beat of the drum, feet get to steppin wrapped around her arm In the downtime between tours, the band is preparing to release its second album. They've shared the stage as supporting and headlining acts with bands including Shivering Timbers, Ha Ha Tonka, Crushed Out, Dan Deacon, Lightnin' Malcolm & Stud, Tank and the Bangas, A Lion Named Roar, The Broderick, and Fluffer. These days the band is committed to playing every stage possible and has seen Charlie Patton's War perform at the Juke Joint Festival, WIUX Culture Shock Music Festival, Linton Music Festival, Nutella Fest, and The Shack Up Inn. Shortly after its digital release, Charlie Patton's War spent two weeks as one of the top-selling Blues albums on and was later included in jazz musician and author Ted Gioia's "100 Best Albums of 2013" list. The album includes eleven tracks of varying blues styles from rock n’ roll to gospel and impressively captures the talent and musicianship of the band. The self-titled, debut album Charlie Patton’s War was released on Apit was recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band members themselves. The time on the road helped the band fine-tune and shape the songs which would become the tracklist for their first album. They performed at the legendary Deep Blues Festival in 2012, joining a lineup that included many blues newcomers and veterans such as David Kimbrough, Jr., Ben Prestage, Left Lane Cruiser, and Brian Olive among others. That year, the band opened for notable artists such as The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Hanni El Khatib, and Mount Carmel, as well as headlining many local shows. Spending the first year developing their blues-rock sound, the band hit the local and regional concert scene hard in 2012. Their music is often described as having the heavy modern blues-rock edge of artists such as The Black Keys, but also an audible nod to earlier influences of Delta blues and soul music. This is a trio of fresh house cuts all designed for slightly different moments in the night.Formed in 2010, Charlie Patton's War is blues/rock band consisting of Aaron Frazer (vocals, drums), Blake Rhein (vocals, guitar), Kyle Houpt (guitar), and Justin Hubler (keyboards/ piano). At the breakdown, things take a wonderful left turn with a trippy whistle and big chanting male vocals that take things to another level entirely. Roland Leesker's You Got To Dance Edit goes bigger still - the chords get more twisted, the drums are supersized and the crunchy hits burst out of the speakers to make an immediate impact. The steamy vocals tease and please before the big drums drop and classic piano chords bring the colour to an emotive ride His version is more tense and restyled with a tech house feel. The excellent remix comes from DJ Island, one-half of Get Physical duo Monkey Safari and a long-time student of house music. The house drums hit hard with splintered edges, while a 90s bassline brings the heady vibe as a classic soul vocal lights up a track that is always keeping you guessing. The original is raw, deep and full of twists and turns from the frazzled melodies to the jazzy sax motifs. 'Rescue Me' was part of the iconic British dance duo's Stairwell Felony EP and has remained an underground favourite. Get Physical Music revisits Groove Armada's 2014 hit 'Rescue Me' and serves it up with a Roland Leesker edit as well as an all-new remix from DJ Island.
